MxChat Image Analysis

Version 1.0.10 · Updated 1 week ago

Let visitors upload images directly into your chatbot for instant AI analysis — OCR, object recognition, scene description, chart parsing, document extraction — powered by GPT-4V, GPT-4o, and xAI Grok Vision.

Features

  • Simple in-chat upload — visitors click a camera icon, pick a file, paste from clipboard, or drag-and-drop. No separate workflow.
  • Powered by industry-leading vision models — OpenAI GPT-4V, GPT-4o multimodal, and xAI Grok Vision. Switch per use case.
  • OCR + text extraction — pull text from documents, screenshots, receipts, or handwriting and feed it straight into the conversation.
  • Object recognition + scene description — let the AI identify what's in the image and describe it in detail for context-aware follow-ups.
  • Chart + graph analysis — visitors upload a screenshot of a chart and ask "what does this trend mean?" or "what's the peak value?" — the AI reads it.
  • Custom analysis prompts — pre-load professional templates (Document Analysis, Medical Imaging, Product Analysis) or write your own to target exactly what the AI looks for.
  • Multi-format support — handles common image formats (PNG, JPG, WebP) plus screenshots and copy/pasted clipboard images.
  • No extra setup — uses your existing MxChat OpenAI or xAI keys. Toggle vision per bot from MxChat settings.

What's new

Version 1.0.10

  • New A Test key button next to each configured vision provider (OpenAI and Grok) in the Image Analysis settings lets you confirm the API key works in one click. It runs a quick validation check that never spends credits or runs an image analysis, and shows a clear success or error message right there.
  • Improved Version constant now derives from the plugin header — sidebar badges and asset cache-keys can't drift from the actual installed version.
  • Fixed Sending a regular text message no longer routes through the Image Analysis add-on — messages without images now use the chatbot's standard send flow, fixing rare cases of unanswered or duplicated messages and restoring full multi-bot support.
  • Improved Cleaned up unused background code in the Image Analysis settings screen for a lighter, tidier admin page. No change to any feature you use.
  • Improved The Image Analysis settings page now uses MxChat's standard admin design — the same dark sidebar, cards, status pills, and slide-in mobile menu as the rest of the plugin — so it looks consistent with every other MxChat screen. A new Help and Reference tab lists the supported image formats, upload methods, and analysis types. No change to how any setting works.
